The labour force of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) have embarked on a nationwide indefinite strike over salary structure and unpaid thirteen months allowance.
Chairman of Lagos Area Council of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Mr. Ibeh Nwokenta gave the instruction to NAFDAC members of staff to observe the strike, he said any NAFDAC staff found on his or her duty post, including those manning land and sea borders would be seriously dealt with by the union.
Mr. Ibeh Nwokenta said that the strike was only called in NAFDAC's Lagos office but that it was binding on all NAFDAC offices and operation Nationwide.
''The Joint Health Workers strike should be separated from NAFDAC workers strike, which will continue indefinitely until all demands are met.'' In his words.
