Microsoft sold more Band wearables than people think

Launched in the US at the end of October, the Microsoft Band went out of stock in almost no time. Right now, Microsoft's online store suggests that the device will be available again starting today, November 18 - which, of course, is good news to those who are interested in getting one.

Reports are saying that Microsoft only has 5,000 Bands available to launch, that's why stocks were quickly depleted. However, Microsoft yesterday reached out to Windows Central to declare that, although it ''does not comment on production volumes'', it ''sold well beyond the numbers suggested to date.'' Microsoft also says that it's working to make more Bands available, both online and in Microsoft Stores across the US.

Costing $199.99, the Microsoft Band is a fitness tracker with some smartwatch capabilities. It features a heart rate sensor, UV monitor, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Cortana integration (only when paired with Windows Phone handsets), and two 100 mAh batteries that can provide a usage time of up to 48 hours. The Brand in compatible with Windows Phone Android, and iOS devices. Microsoft is yet to announce if it's going to launch it in other markets.
