CAF strips Morocco of the hosting rights for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations

African football's governing body has banned Morocco from playing at the finals and also stripped the country of its hosting rights for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Morocco had earlier requested for a postponement of the 30th edition of the tournament due to fears based on the Ebola outbreak on the continent.

The governing body CAF originally gave the North African country until Saturday to reveal whether or not it would stage the tournament from 17 January to 8 February. But Morocco remained inflexible in their desire to postpone the event till 2016.

An executive meeting was held in Cairo, an CAF decided to select another host country, with just two months remaining for the kickoff.
